On this half day tour, we venture into the New Territories for a glimpse of the rural Hong Kong with its mountainous landscapes and beautiful greenery.
The tour starts at Lok Ma Chau, which borders China, here visitors can ‘look out’ into mainland China and see the skyscrapers of Shenzhen. From Lok Ma Chau, the tour will make its way back to Kowloon through various satellite towns. Tai Po is one of these towns, and here we visit Tai Po Market – a typical local wet market.
From Tai Po, the tour will head to Tsang Tai Uk, here we are able to find an example of a well preserved fortified village.
In the heart of Kowloon we will find Wong Tai Sin Temple. This popular Taoist temple gives us an insight into the religious beliefs and practices of the Hong Kong people.
Highlights:
Lok Ma Chau, on the Hong Kong /China border.
