If you are yet to discover the English-speaking Maltese Islands, it’s time to book a trip and visit the small archipelago situated in the heart of the sparkling Mediterranean Sea. Just a short three-hour flight away, the islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino are perfect for a beach holiday or a city break. From beautiful beaches and chic harbour towns, to centuries-old sights and ancient architecture that’s guaranteed to wow, these tiny islands are jam-packed with things to see and do.

Malta’s capital city is Valletta, which is a superb open-air museum on the east coast. The three seaside villages of Bugibba, Qawra and St Paul’s Bay share a scenic promenade that stretches for 2 miles along the coast, offering the perfect beach break.

Being an island, it will come as no surprise that seafood is high on the list of things to eat. Dining options range from great value to a la carte, from international to Maltese fusion. Do your research before you go, and book in advance to avoid disappointment - especially if you want that special meal on a terrace! Malta now boasts 3 Michelin Star restaurants if you’re looking for a meal to remember. Malta enjoys a vibrant clubbing scene. Indoor clubs are found mainly in St Julian’s/Paceville, however once the summer starts outside venues can be found across the island.

    When to visit Malta

Spring - March to May: The spring months are a perfect time to visit the Maltese Islands as the weather is ideal for exploring Malta’s capital, Valletta, while experiencing an abundance of adventure activities, and witnessing the beauty of the spring. Easter is widely celebrated in Malta with processions, Easter vigils and other traditions taking place during Holy week.

Summer - June to September: Visit during the summer to enjoy the sunshine whilst experiencing watersports including scubadiving, snorkelling, kayaking and paddle boarding. Malta welcomes the Isle of MTV, Summer Daze, Glitch Festival and many more music festivals each year to its Mediterranean shores, perfect for holidaymakers looking for a music experience like no other.

Autumn - October to November: The autumn months cool down slightly but there is no lack of cobalt blue skies and sunshine. Enjoy horse-riding, hiking, cycling and rock-climbing, and marvel at some of the most famous sail boats in October during the Rolex Middle Sea Race; a spectacle not to be missed.

Winter: December to January: Valletta is the perfect getaway during the winter months. The capital city boasts stunning boutique hotels set in old palazzo buildings, waterfront alfresco dining options overlooking the Grand Harbour and over 320 historical sites.
